Carton labels keep your inbound shipments moving without manual checks. Amazon FCs expect specific fields (FNSKU, carton qty, PO, weight/dims) placed where scanners and dock staff can find them fast.
Tip: Request a packing spec sheet from your 3PL or FC and share it with the factory before production starts.
Carton label fields (required & common)
- FNSKU or ASIN barcode (as applicable)
- Carton quantity & unit SKU
- PO / Shipment ID
- Gross/Net weight, Carton dimensions
- Country of origin (e.g., Made in India)
Example layout — always confirm latest template from your marketplace / 3PL.
Timeline note: Get label templates approved during sampling to avoid rework at packing stage.
Placement & print specs
- Two adjacent sides (not across the seam).
- At least 1.5″ from edges to prevent damage.
- High-contrast black on white; 300+ dpi for barcodes.
File formats
Prefer vector/PDF outputs. If the factory prints in-house, verify the exact paper size and printer margins. Export barcodes in Code128 or QR per spec.
Common mistakes to avoid
Watchouts:
- Mismatch between PO and carton labels.
- Labels on seams or taped areas.
- Low-contrast prints that fail scanning.
Handover checklist
- Final label PDF approved by buyer/3PL.
- Sample carton photo with label placement.
- Packing list with weights/dimensions per carton.
